Check your health plan coverage

If you have Medicare coverage and qualify for the service, the government pays for you to receive the service. Some state Medicaid programs are also now paying for the service to be provided. Be sure to ask your health plan about the medication management services available to you.

If you have health insurance coverage other than Medicare, be sure to contact your health plan to see if the plan covers medication management services. A number of different companies are also offering medication management services as a benefit to their employees. Check your coverage to see your options.

Be a personal advocate

The service is not yet available everywhere nor is it covered by all insurance plans, so it is important that patients request the service and create a demand for coverage of the service. If people at your health plan want to learn more about how they can provide the service, ask them to contact us for more information. If your company does not yet offer this service to employees, ask your personnel benefits manager to contact us to learn more about how they can offer the benefit.
