Nathan Schultz, PharmD, President and Chief Operating Officer

Nathan SchultzNate is a clinical pharmacist and experienced healthcare executive. Dr. Schultz has been a leader and innovator in managed care pharmacy and pharmacy benefit management for over 25 years. Formerly Chief Services Officer of National Medical Health Card Systems, his executive background includes over 10 years of Diversified Pharmaceutical Services and Express Scripts. He holds both a Bachelor of Science and Pharm.D. degree from the University of Minnesota. Nate is certified as a Pharmacotherapy Specialist.

Tom R. Albers, RPh, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing

Tom AlbersTom has an extensive background in sales and marketing with 20 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Mr. Albers has worked for Wyeth and most recently served as the Senior Corporate Account Manager for Amgen, Inc. where he was responsible for national payer accounts. Tom has worked extensively to develop clinical disease management strategies serving major health plan customers. Tom received his pharmacy degree from the University of Minnesota.

Peggy Hammill Zimmer, Vice President of Business Development

Peggy ZimmerPeggy has extensive sales and business development background with 30 years in the managed health care arena. Peggy began her health care career as one of the earliest employees of what is now United Health Care. She has held several management positions as Vice President of Sales and Business Development at ValueRx, ESI and Prime Therapeutics. Most recently, Peggy held the position of Vice President of Government Sales at Novologix. Peggy received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Minnesota.

Michael Frakes, PharmD, Vice President of Business Applications and Information Technology

Mike FrakesMike is a clinical pharmacist and software developer. Dr. Frakes has over 25 years of experience in developing computerized clinical support services for a variety of platforms. He served as Vice President of Health Outcomes Management, Inc. for 12 years, a healthcare software company, overseeing all technical and design aspects. Dr. Frakes also works for Fairview Pharmacy Services providing software documentation services and practitioner clinical support. Mike is a credentialed pharmaceutical care practitioner. Dr. Frakes received his Bachelor of Science and Pharm.D. Degree from the University of Minnesota.

Linda M. Strand, PharmD, PhD, DSc (Hon), Vice President of Professional Services

Linda StrandLinda is a clinical pharmacist, educator and researcher. Dr. Strand held facultypositions at the University of Utah, University of Florida and the University of Minnesota until 2009 when she retired from academe. Dr. Strand and colleagues developed the practice of pharmaceutical care and has worked in 15 different countries to establish it as the universal patient care practice for pharmacists. She received the Remington Medal in 1997 for this work. Linda received her B.S., Pharm.D., and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Minnesota. In 2001, Dr. Strand received an honorary Doctor of Science Degree from Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, Scotland. She maintains a position as Professor Emeritus at the University of Minnesota.

Priya Bardal, PharmD, Practice Accounts Manager

Priya BardalPriya is a clinical pharmacist and an educator. Dr. Bardal has been establishing pharmaceutical care practices since her two year residency in a community pharmacy setting. Priya focused on educational technology during her residency which qualified her to accept a position in the Continuing Pharmacy Education office at the University of Minnesota, College of Pharmacy. During her tenure there, she led the development of an online pharmaceutical care training program which is now being used to prepare clients to provide MTM services at MMS. Dr. Bardal received her Pharm.D. degree from the University of Minnesota.

Jenny Gordon, PhD, Practice Accounts Manager

Jenny GordonJenny is a pharmacist and an educator. Dr. Gordon held a faculty position at the University of Concepcion, Chile where she taught pharmacy students and pharmacists to provide pharmaceutical care. In addition, she established new medication management practices and made changes to the pharmacy curriculum to facilitate practice experiences in patient care. Jenny translated the Assurance System™ into Spanish and is responsible for managing the Spanish-speaking clients at MMS. Dr. Gordon received her pharmacy degree in Chile and her Ph.D. degree from the University of Minnesota, College of Pharmacy.

Stephanie Smith, Pharm D, Practice Accounts Manager

Stephanie Smith, PharmDStephanie is a medication therapy management pharmacist. She has work experience in community pharmacy practice, ambulatory clinical practice providing medication management to patients and home visit as an ambulatory care resident at Fairview pharmacy services. Her position at Medication Management Systems involves providing telephonic medication management services to patients, delivering face-to-face services to employer groups, developing clinical policy around CMS requirements, and managing the independent practitioners licensed to use the Assurance System™. During her work and educational experiences, she has been closely involved with care transitions and is currently leading projects around the integration of pharmacists in the care transitions model. Dr. Smith received her Pharm.D. Degree from the University of Minnesota.

Abbie Vogler, PharmD, Practice Accounts ManagerAbbie Frank

Abbie is a pharmacist and researcher. She has extensive work experience in community pharmacy practice. Dr. Vogler worked as a pharmaceutical care student practitioner at an interdisciplinary clinic alongside other health care professionals and students. This clinic provides free medical care to the Twin Cities' underserved population. She also spent five weeks studying in Germany with a focus on the role of the pharmacist in patient care services for the U.S. and German health care systems. She received her Pharm.D. Degree from the University of Minnesota, College of Pharmacy and is currently pursuing her Doctor of Philosophy degree at the same institution.

Lori Koester, Office Manager and Technical Support

Lori KoesterLori has an extensive background in the educational training field. She has worked with a number of start-up companies. In addition, Lori worked for many years to develop training and techniques for scoring standardized state educational examinations. Lori manages the office work at MMS on a daily basis and supports clients with technical needs. Lori received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Marketing from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. In addition, Lori is a certified pharmacy technician, having completed an AAS degree in that field.

Terry McInnis, MD, MPH, Consultant, Business Development and Policy 

Terry McInnisTerry is a physician and has over 20 years of senior executive and clinicalexperience in various employer, military (US Air Force), pharmaceutical, and hospital/group practice health management segments. Dr. McInnis is Board Certified in Preventive and Occupational Medicine, a Fellow of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, and she completed a residency in Occupational and Environmental Medicine and a Masters of Public Health from the University of Oklahoma. From 2003 until 2010, Terry was a Medical Director at GlaxoSmithKline, most currently serving as the Medical Director for Health Policy and Advocacy. Her other experiences include serving as the Corporate Medical Director for Michelin North America, the Associate Medical Director and Health Care Manager for General Electric (GE) Power Systems, starting and acquiring occupational medicine clinics for the Hughston Clinic in Georgia, Director of Occupational Medicine for Columbus Regional in Georgia, and serving as a Flight Surgeon in the US Air Force. Dr. McInnis has been a national leader in defining medication management services in the medical home and coordinated care system context. She currently serves as an Officer of the Patient Centered Primary Care Collaborative (PCPCC) and is Co-chair of the Center for Public Payer Implementation and Co-leader of the Medication Management in the Patient Centered Medical Home Taskforce of the PCPCC.
